On 27th November 2024, the Mission:brain Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) Chapter, in collaboration with the PAHS Undergraduate Student Society, successfully organized a “Hands-on Training on Writing a Case Report.” Held in the Patan Hospital auditorium, the event aimed to equip undergraduate medical students with both theoretical knowledge and practical guidance on the essentials of writing a case report.
The training was designed to provide a step-by-step overview of the process involved in preparing a well-structured and compelling case report. With growing emphasis on research and clinical documentation in medical education, this session served as an important learning opportunity for aspiring clinicians and researchers.
A total of 60 medical students from different medical schools of Nepal participated enthusiastically in the session, demonstrating a keen and growing interest in enhancing their academic writing and clinical case reporting skills.
The event featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including Dr. Ashis Shrestha, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nepal Medical Association (JNMA); Dr. Sushant Regmi, Managing Editor at JNMA; and Dr. Shreedhar Acharya, a long-time member of the JNMA editorial support team.
The total expenditure for the program amounted to NPR 28,000, which was covered through sponsorships and participant registration fees. Attendees received certificates of participation, and tokens of appreciation were presented to the speakers and sponsors in recognition of their generous contributions.
By equipping participants with the skills to write and present case reports effectively, the program has empowered them to contribute meaningfully to the medical community.
