The mission:brain PAHS Chapter organized a one-day health camp on December 21, 2024 where our volunteers provided health services at Manavsewa Ashram, Dhapakhel. This Ashram serves as a shelter for senior citizens and disadvantaged people.Β
β
The primary goal of the camp was to address the immediate healthcare needs of the Ashram residents by offering a comprehensive range of services. Beyond health check-ups, the mission was to:
- Enhance Access: Bring quality healthcare directly to those who might otherwise have limited access to medical facilities.
- Provide Specialized Care: Combine basic medical screenings with specialized consultations, ensuring a broad spectrum of health concerns was addressed.
- Community Engagement: Encourage a culture of volunteerism and community support, reinforcing the idea that caring for one another is a communal responsibility.
- Promote Health Awareness: Educate patients about preventive measures and the importance of regular health monitoring.
We served the residents there by catering their health-care needs through basic medical checkup such as blood pressure testing and glucose screening, providing essential medical supplies along with advanced consultations from ophthalmology and psychiatry expertise. In this camp, we gave our best effort so that every patient received not only health care but also empathy and compassion. The success of the camp was largely due to the dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day.
