Introducing Mission:Brain Pathways (North America)
A new way to get involved in global neurosurgery.
What Is Pathways?
Mission:Brain Pathways (North America) is a transitional chapter designed for medical and premedical trainees who don’t have access to a Mission:Brain chapter at their school or hospital. It provides an inclusive, structured space for students to engage in global neurosurgery, leadership, and service while gaining the same opportunities offered by traditional institutional chapters.
Whether you’re just starting your journey or looking for a way to get involved beyond your institution, Pathways is your entry point into the Mission:Brain network.
Our Mission
Pathways bridges the gap for students without local chapters by offering:
- Mentorship from Mission:Brain leaders and professionals around the world
- Research opportunities in global neurosurgery and health equity
- Collaborative projects that connect members across institutions
- Community involvement that supports Mission:Brain’s outreach and education initiatives
Through Pathways, students can build experience, develop leadership skills, and eventually launch their own institutional chapter or continue contributing through Mission:Brain’s global efforts.
Who Can Join?
Pathways is open to:
- Medical students and premedical students in North America
- Trainees passionate about neurosurgery, global health, or medical education
- Individuals seeking community and mentorship beyond their university or hospital
How Pathways Differs from Traditional Chapters
Why Pathways Matters
Not every student has the resources or administrative support to start a Mission:Brain chapter. Pathways ensures that no one is left out of the opportunity to serve, learn, and grow through global neurosurgery. It’s where future chapter leaders, advocates, and researchers begin their journey.
