PAHS launched its podcast with Dr. Rupesh Raut, sharing insights on neurosurgery, purpose, and mentorship for future doctors.

On 29th January 2025, the mission:brain Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) Chapter conducted the recording of the first episode of its year-long podcast series, “The Art of Medicine,” titled: “Sutures, Sketches, and Science: Life Inside Dr. Rupesh’s Neuroverse.” The session was held at Neema’s Studio. This episode featured Dr. Rupesh Raut, one of Nepal’s youngest and most inspiring neurosurgeons, who shared his amazing journey into the field of neurosurgery. Through storytelling and personal reflections, Dr. Raut provided a compelling narrative of the motivations, setbacks, and pivotal moments that shaped his path as a neurosurgeon. His authentic and humble approach made the conversation deeply engaging and relatable, especially for aspiring medical professionals navigating their own uncertainties.

The primary objective of this podcast was to guide medical students and early career doctors by providing them with clear insights into choosing the right specialty, exploring innovations in modern medicine, and achieving personal and professional growth. Additionally, the session addressed important aspects of medical life, including balancing personal well-being with a demanding career, overcoming burnout, and the critical role of mentorship and collaboration in shaping a fulfilling career.

The episode served not only as a source of inspiration but also as an educational platform, helping students better understand the real world challenges and triumphs of a career in neurosurgery.

The total expenditure for this episode amounted to $58, which covered studio rental, production, and a token of appreciation for the speaker. “The Art of Medicine” podcast marks the beginning of a broader initiative to deliver meaningful content that empowers, educates, and connects future healthcare professionals.
