Sheila's Story

In 2021...

I had a brain hemorrhage that led to surgery to remove a vascular tumor from my mid-brain, which is a very eloquent location (responsible for many neurological functions) in the brain.

12 hours later, it was a successful surgery...

I was lucky to live near a hospital & surgeon who was skilled & experienced enough to feel confident operating in this sensitive area, safely.

Since then, I bring family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and anyone else to raise money...

In 2021, we raised money for research. In 2022, we fundraised money to pay off a patient's medical bill at UPENN. This year, we will fundraise with Mission Brain Foundation to pay for 2 life changing brain surgeries for patients in underserved communities!
