MISSION: SIERRA LEONEIn Sierra Leone, access to neurosurgical care is limited. As such, many Sierra Leoneans suffering from neurological conditions cannot obtain the treatment they desperately need. The lack of specialized medical facilities and trained neurosurgeons leaves countless individuals without hope for a better future.
Mission:brain is proud to assist the University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospital Complex (USLTHC) and the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health (SLMoH) on their journey to deliver neurosurgical care to the people of Sierra Leone. Help Sierra Leone shape its first Neurosurgeons by donating today!

By the numbers...

There are NO trained neurosurgeons in Sierra Leone.
So what can be done?
2
fellows, Drs. Allieu Kamara and Peter Bangura, were selected by SLMoH and USLTHC to begin their neurosurgical residencies at the World Federation of Neurosurgeons training center in Rabat, Morocco, funded in part by mission:brain. In Rabat, they will develop their craft as surgeons, but will ultimately return home and train future generations of Sierra Leoneans.
