Frequently asked questions
How can I request treatment for myself, my family or my friend?
Unfortunately, we at mission:brain cannot provide any consultation or second opinion on any patient that has not been referred to us by our local partners in the cities where we have our missions. Our surgical patients are chosen in collaboration with the local neurosurgeons. We suggest that you contact your local neurosurgeon for assistance with your health problem.
Can mission:brain assist us with the costs of our surgery? We have a neurosurgeon, but not enough money for the treatment.
We at mission:brain can work only though our annual volunteer missions to hospitals. We do not have the funds to send to people for treatments outside the missions.
Is it possible to get a consultation with one of the doctors in the United States?
mission:brain can refer people to paid consultations with our doctors in the United States. However, we cannot provide any funding to pay for the consultations, the travel or any treatment that is recommended. Please send a message here in order to obtain information about contacting one of the team doctors in the United States.
How can I submit my hospital for consideration to be included in mission:brain trips?
If you would like mission:brain to consider traveling to your hospital for a mission, please send a proposal to us at email@example.com, stating your vision for the visit and what you would expect from us. We can then follow up with a telephone call and/or a site visit to determine whether the project is a good match for us.
Where in the world are you focused?
We are currently sending missions to Latin America and to the Philippines. We are planning to expand to other regions as we grow.
How can I volunteer?
We are delighted by your interest in mission:brain. We continue to be inspired by the enthusiastic response of people for the goals we’ve set out to accomplish. Unfortunately, since we are a relatively small organization, we are limited in the number of volunteers we can invite to join us. However, as we continue to grow, we will be able to include more people in our efforts. Please click on the Volunteer tab to the left to tell us a little about yourself and inquire about future volunteer opportunities.
